Fun Fact: Originally All Saints Day and the Eve was All Hallows Eve later to be called Halloween. Halloween evolved into a day of festivities. Celtic festivities dating back 2000 years believed on Oct 31 was Hallows Eve and the vail was thin between the spirt world and it was the eve of the Celtic new year. Nov 1st was the new year and it represented harvest, death and the beginning of winter. So celebrations occurred celebrating death and harvest on the 31st into Nov 1 and followed by All Souls Day Nov 2nd. Costumes worn to ward of ghosts, spirts and gremlins from destroying crops. Large bonfires were lit to represent them keeping warm for the winter to come.
